A simple website redesign gone total

Website Redesign

The owner of GoKite Cabarete Kiteboarding School came to us to redesign his site, make it mobile friendly and make its design more contemporary

A New Brand

We supplied a modern, clean, mobile- and search engine-friendly website, with streamlined branding, colors, and appearance. We also worked with GoKite to provide custom photography that set GoKite apart from competition — both for uniqueness and heightened brand value perception.

Additionally, we’ve overhauled the navigation/IA, applied usability best practices to the design, interaction, and copy, to make the site easier to use. We’ve also optimized gokitecabarete.com for faster page loading times by optimizing/caching content and moving to a better hosting service, The speed went from over 20-30 sec to under 3 sec for heavier pages, others loading in around 1 sec.

As a result, GoKite received a very positive client feedback on redesign, and its traffic doubled immediately after.

Online Ordering

We also implemented a simple online ordering system, reducing the phone calls and emails to GoKite dramatically. We also boosted the FAQ section to the same effect.

New Products

Early in the process, we agreed to restructure the core packages and also added new ones, such as VIP & kids lessons,  locker rentals, photo & video journals — and a new hit among clients, the Kiteboarding Trips. Thanks to this move, GoKite ended up with several additional sources of revenue.

New Dynamic Content

in an effort to maximize traffic, social sharing, lead generation, SEO, conversions, etc. — as well as increase the usefulness of the site to GoKite visitors — we’ve created various new and unique pieces of content, such as weather station and forecast, live beach cams, blog, galleries, to name a few. GoKite is now go-to resource for current wind situation on Kite Beach, Cabarete.

The Future: Going Global

Following the site analytics, we realized that adding content in other languages made great sense; we’ve implemented Spanish version, and soon to go German!

We have already launched a few Google and Facebook mini-campaigns, and more region- and language-specific products and campaigns are to come! GoKite!
